Establish community use centers for People Like Us. Fuse the Folk Homes of Sweden, your town church basement, and the Ghibli Museum.
Apple and Alex had their wedding reception at a place like it in Mendocino, and Nora and Mike in Taylors Falls. For marrying couples and anniversary celebrators and others medium-partying folks who want a cheap and secular place to assemble. Rental fee includes use of dishes and coffee maker, and renters need to clean up the place within reason afterwards. This is for scout-like types who know about Leave No Trace. These places will be established as a chain, with a logo and identifying, excellent characteristics.
And, incidentally, this would establish a.) gathering places for like-minded folks, leading to a social movement- you know it, and b.) CPR for community resources, historic buildings that we love to look at and live with.
Think, Third Milieu after Home and Work- that’s where we're going coz everyone knows that you can't really bowl alone.

Wish I could give you a glimpse of contra dancing in Bflo- funny how quick the contras are to welcome me into their sweaty mincing and grinning fun. They aren't quite Frodos but close. Bowling Alone does not apply. One guy in a black Indian cotton skirt that reminded me of what I wore in middle school, except my skirt had jangly bells at the end of the waist tie. In my jeans I thought I should partner with him to even the score, but when I was his neighbor and he swung me, his eye contact was just too too.
